I’ve read that early buyers were plagued with quite a bit of lag, the snapdragon 808 downcloking itself to 600/700mhz and refusing to move from there after, or that the encryption slowed down the phone quite a bit...etc etc
If you own one or have tried one for a bit of time, what is your experience with it?
Whatever happens I will get it, since I don’t really pay for it, but curious about Oppo’s end user experience with it. Also as soon as a stable version for it comes out, Cyanogenmod will replace the stock rom.

I’m still really, really happy with my Nexus 6. Should be a lot cheaper now, too.

I’m loving my Moto X Pure, except that little tiny chunks come
out
of the silicone backing really easily. I deeply regret not getting a case sooner.

Yeah I wanted to get a Nexus 6P at first, but Docomo doesn’t offer one so...

Meh.
On the plus side, it’s not an iphonie.

I have one. It’s neat.

No lag or anything for now? How long ago did you get it?

Oh, I mean the old Motorola.

Yes, yes, I know :)
But the Nexus 6 is not offered anymore here... 5X and 6P only

I have a 6P and it’s great so if you can get that I say do it. Also I came from Cyanogen Before the Nexus and boy is it a shit show at the moment. A horribly unstable, resource hogging, security lacking P.O.S ROM.

I got it last December. It still runs fine.

Yeah not even going to install the Nightlies right now :)
Will wait as long as necessary for a stable release of it.

This is the Android phone I would get if I wasn’t sucked into the Apple ecosystem. So that’s saying something.
But I’ve heard about the lag, so maybe the 6P might be better after all...?

Cool, thx!

Damn. It’s a great device if you can find an unlocked one or something.

Yeah, but I only get the 5x because I’m not paying much for it...
Otherwise I have a Samsung Galaxy J (model that only exists in Taiwan and Japan), which I spent LOTS of time on to get rid of the awful Samsung/Docomo version of android. It runs very well, I’m just not too happy about its battery life... and due to the fact that I got rid of the original awful android on it, I’m stucked on 4.4.4

I have one!!!!!!!!!!! It’s absolutely lovely in every way... But the battery...worst battery life this side of an iPhone. Otherwise I’d rate it a solid 8.3/10.

Oh really? Reviews seemed to praise the battery life from what I’ve read...

Just turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when you’re not using them and your battery life will be fine. I have a Nexus 5 and the battery life was criticized in reviews but it lasts all day if I just turn down the screen brightness when indoors and turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when I am not using them.

You had some trouble with your first 6P, didn’t you? Glad to hear the second’s apparently working out—I’m really liking mine. Only annoying thing’s the way the auto-brightness can get it bit inconsistent in certain specific lighting conditions, but that’s a really minor problem - and very easily worked around - in the grand scheme of things.
I’m impressed by how well it held up to a drop onto tiles from waist height, too. Only a small scuff on the corner. (I’m generally very good about not dropping my phones, but I made the unfortunate mistake of confusing the belt of my dressing gown with the opening for the pocket, and...)

I dig my 6P, and I came from a Nexus 5, so I’d say go for it. I generally prefer smaller phones, so I was leaning 5X for a while, but I needed more storage than the maximum available, so 6P was the obvious way to go.
As an alternative, though: is the Moto X Style/Pure reasonably priced/available on DoCoMo? I came very close to going for one of those over a 6P, and I’d probably have one over a 5X, assuming similar pricing.

I’m waiting for the Caterpillar S60 to be released.

The thermal imaging will come in handy at work and I like the rugged design and water proofing. Also works with wet and gloved fingers apparently.

That would be a bit too big for me
I don’t mind long ones but thicker ones are not practical... Yes, straight guy talking about phones here :)

lool. entendres abound!
I don’t wear too tight of pants so it works for me. I have an asus padfone S that is currently microphone less. $85 for a new motherboard to fix it... or wait till june and get the S60... decisions.

Not that much about pants but about pocket limitations... I tend to carry around lots of stuff and I need a thin phone...

I have one, it is a pretty average phone although the battery life kind of sucks. To counter that the charge times are really quick.

makes sense. I always dedicate one pocket to my phone. Then I can do my pre-flight checks. Keys, wallet, phone. and one pocket for freedom.
